As Eagle Eye Agriculture continues to grow and progress the tender trailer setup it requires will grow and progress as well. As you can imagine the requirements to keep up with a T10 drone are much smaller than a T40 drone. This new tender trailer setup will have increased capacity to help keep up the DJI Agras T40 drone.
Tank Setup
Last setup had a 400 gallon horizontal leg tank with a 35 gallon inductor tank. The larger tank was for holding fresh water and the inductor tank was used for hot mixing straight into the drone. This allowed me to cover about 17 acres per tank load at a 2 gallon per acre rate. This worked great for a T10 but will not be enough for a T40.
The new setup will have two 275 gallon IBC totes and a 60 gallon inductor tank. This gives me about 30 acres per tank load and will be a much better suited to the T40 drone. Also, the 550 gallons of fresh water capacity will give me the ability to run all day without having to refill.
Pump Setup
The pumps on the old setup were 5.5 gallon per minute shurflo 12 volt pumps. They were a good match considering the T10 has a capacity of about 2 gallons. Being that the T40 has a tank capacity of 10.5 gallons those pumps will not keep up.
The new pumps are capable of upwards of 12 gallons per minute and will be a better match with the new drone. The pump will be a Dura-Pump paired with a Dura-Meter. The Dura-Meter will make it automatic. This will allow me to set a certain amount of gallons needed in the inductor tank for the specific flight. This will help free up time from watching the tank and making sure it won’t overflow. The second pump, which will transfer into the drone, is a Flowserve CT6 high flow pump capable of 18 gallons per minute. This will be able to fill the drone in under a minute which will increase efficiency for this tender trailer setup.
All of the electronics, including pumps, are 12 volt and will run off of a deep cycle battery backup. The battery backup will be able to be charged by a trickle charger.
Generator Setup
Lastly, although I had an oversized generator for the T10 I will likely increase size for the new T40 drone. The generator I currently have is a 10,000 peak watt/9,000 continuous watts. The new generator will probably be in the 12,000 peak watt/10,500 continuous watts. This will for sure be able to keep up with the T40 charger and other accessories. The new generator will have a 50 amp plug to utilize the fast charging.
There are a lot of new items going into the new tender trailer the base will remain the same. It is a Gatormade XT16 trailer with tandem 5k axles. This is capable plenty of weight capacity to handle whatever will be needed.
